Brief History of the Kei River
The Great Kei River is a river in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. The river stretches about 520 km with its origin north of Queenstown. It is formed by the confluence of the Black Kei River and White Kei River, northeast of Cathcart.
During the apartheid era the Kei Bridge was a divide between the Transkei and Ciskei regions, by the two major Black provinces with the South Africa. Former South African president Nelson Mandela, who hails from the Transkei Region and hometown Qunu.
Kei River is a home to many resorts, wildlife parks and many tourist attractions in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
